Miguel García Casas (1994 – Les Coves de Vinromà – Castellón) began his musical studies at the music school in his hometown and later at the Municipal Conservatory of Benicarló and Castellón. Alongside his formal studies, he was also a student at the Stomvi Trombone Academy.

He subsequently pursued a Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid under Professor Elies Hernandis and further enhanced his musical education by completing a Master’s degree in Advanced Musical Performance at the Hochschule der Künste Bern with Professor Ian Bousfield.

Being part of numerous youth orchestras such as JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra) and the SHMF Orchestra Academy, as well as his participation in orchestral academies like OSIB, OCNE, and TOBS, played a significant role in his professional development.

He regularly collaborates with various orchestras, including the Staatskapelle Berlin, Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Staatsorchester Hamburg, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, HR-Sinfonieorchester, Ensemble Modern, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro de RTVE, Le Concert des Nations, and others. He is frequently invited to give masterclasses across Europe.

Since the 2020/21 academic year, he has been part of the pool of substitute professors selected through merit-based competition to meet the teaching needs of the Higher Artistic Education in Music at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. Additionally, he has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz since late 2023.

His commitment to chamber music has led him to collaborate with ensembles such as And The Brass, Nineties Trombone Ensemble, Esencia Trombone Quartet, Frankfurt Chamber Brass, Salaputia Brass, among others. He has also participated in other projects and recordings with composer and trombonist Uwe Dierksen, as well as with Maestro Christoph Eschenbach and the Kronberg Academy.

Since 2018, he has been the principal trombone of the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester.
